Unfortunately, plastics have become the center of our lives and that of our children, and the damage we cause to our planet is increasing, so we must educate children from a very young age to reduce, to the extent of their possibilities, the use of these materials. From home, at school, when on the street ... we give you the tricks to teach children to reduce the consumption of plastics!

Many families use single-use straws, bottles or bags that, when thrown away, do not disappear, but remain in the environment for years and years, polluting the oceans and endangering not only wild animals but also the environment. human species.

It is true that we have advanced and now we educate our little ones to deposit them in the appropriate containers for recycling, but there is not always one at hand and, to fool us, they are still children, so they do not always make the right decision.

Reducing the use of plastics is essential to extend the life of our planet and to improve the expectations of the world that we leave to our children, and by adopting small changes in our routine and daily routine we can do much more than we think.

Don't you think it's time to get down to business? Any gesture can save the Earth, so you no longer have an excuse! Wherever you are, you can do your bit. Do you want to know how? Take note!

From home
- Avoid straws, although not only at home but also when we eat out.

- Squeeze the juice at home instead of buying packaged juices, in addition to being healthier, we avoid generating more garbage.

- Use glass containers to store leftovers or to store bulk products that we buy at the supermarket.

- Avoid plastic tableware, which, although they are very useful especially for the little ones, generate large amounts of garbage. Bamboo tableware and utensils are a much more recommended option to take care of the planet.

- If you choose to use single-use plates, glasses or even straws, for example for children's birthdays, make sure they are not made of plastic, but rather biodegradable.

At the supermarket
- Use single-use shopping bags made of paper (recyclable) or, better yet, fabric, which can last a lifetime! Of course, we must not forget that they must be washed frequently to maintain the hygiene of our products.

- Choose the product looking at the container that pollutes the least. For example, detergent in a cardboard box is easier to recycle and is less damaging to the environment than that sold in a plastic bottle.

- Buy the products in bulk whenever possible, and keep them in our own bags or in paper bags.

- Buy fresh bread that is not packaged or that, at least, does not use plastic in its packaging.

Out of home
- Offer our children ice cream in a cone instead of the tubs with a plastic spoon or those packed in plastic. It is a small change that all children can learn and adopt to feel that they are helping to improve the health of the planet.

- Bring our own travel mug to the cafeteria instead of consuming drinks in disposable cups or cups that are the most polluting products. Even the coffee shop chain is likely to offer you a discount!

To go to school
- Wrap the sandwich in paper instead of plastic or aluminum, and place it in a reusable lunch box or in a cloth bag that the child can take and bring each day. Frequent washing of the lunch box or bag is as hygienic as using a disposable bag every day and it pollutes much less!

- Choose whole fruits that do not need packaging or peel and cut the fruit and pack it in reusable containers instead of single-use bags.

- Do not use bottled water, fill a reusable bottle for the little one to take to school. If the water in your city is not of quality and you need to buy bottled water, choose the largest containers and fill glass bottles to use at home.

When choosing any of these measures, explain to your child why you do it. It is easy for the child to adopt them if he understands the reasons that push us to them. We must not forget that Children are the future, and as such, the more careful they are, the more likely that the environment will not suffer.
